Fabric refers to the type of cloth or material available in woven, knitted form using both natural and synthetic threads as well as materials. The bounded version of textile fabrics is available in the fashion industry with the creation of designs, product use, and other materials. What are the Categories of Fabric? It is possible to break down the fabric into a number of categories. The version of the category depends on the source, their manufacturing details, and the design of the material. All these include: 1. Natural or Synthetic Material 2. Woven or Knitted Fibers 3. Plant-Based or Animal Based Fabrics One thing that is important is that categories and types are not the same. Under each of the mentioned categories, there are several fabric types. Based on the production process, fabric has the following different types. They are: 1. Woven Fabric: A material that follows an interweave on a loom in the ways of horizontal and vertical, running at 45 degrees. This type of woven fabric has two features: Weft and Warp. Weft covers the width and the warp covers the loom length. Examples: Chiffon fabric, Velvet fabric, Crêpe fabric, Canvas fabric, Brocade fabric, Poplin fabric, Damask fabric, Flannel fabric, etc. 2. Knit Fabric: A fabric which consists of an interconnected loop design. Knit fabric is stretchable, and elastic in nature. Example: Fleece Fabric, Ponte Fabric, Tricot Fabric, and so on, 3. Non-Woven Fabric: These fabrics are flexible, stapled, disposable, and durable based on their application areas. Other than that, they remain in a lightweight position. 4. Braided Fabric: Braided fabric is a machined interlaced yarn, formed in a narrow construction. This rope thing fabric consists of the interweaving of 3 to 4 strands in an overlapping pattern. The application of fabric is: a) Medical Textiles: Operation Theater uniforms, medical bandages, Surgical Gowns, and staff outfits. b) Automotive Textiles: Hoot Liner, carpets. c) Sports Textiles: Tracksuits, Sports Shoes, Pants. d) Bags: Bags for shopping, traveling, and regular usage. e) Construction: Wallcoverings Clothing (Functional): Undershirts, Pair of Socks, and Trousers. f) Household Items: Vacuum Cleaning, Sheets, Curtains. g) Nets: Fishing Nets h) Other application areas are: In case of braided fabrics, ski ropes, mooring lines, yachting rope, and others.
